Innovations Performing Arts Program gives students opportunities to explore the worlds of drama and music in an integrated and process-oriented setting. Students attend class twice a week with specialist, Sue Boyum, where creativity and imagination are fostered. Innovations Drama Program addresses four basic domains of learning:
The Music Program actively engages students in the music making process with a goal of musical independence. The mediums through which students participate include:
An understanding of music is gained through the sequenced development of concepts based on the elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, form, expression, history and style, and composition and performance. Units of study are integrated with core curriculum units to create a whole learning approach for students. |
