Innovations' 4th Annual Winter Program
Innovations PCS students perform A Christmas Carol to
liven holiday spirits More than 120 cast members from Innovations Public
Charter School recently appeared on stage to perform the
traditional story of Scrooge, but many unexpected, unique
and entertaining extras were added to the performance,
including various dances and songs. "We included upbeat dances and songs for each of the
classes to perform during the play," said Sue Boyum,
Innovations' drama teacher and coordinator for the play. The
choreography and direction of the show expanded on the
traditional story line with imagination and expertise. A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a
wealthy businessman who despises Christmas. He forces his
employee, Bob Cratchit, to work on Christmas Day and refuses
to listen to any nonsense about holiday good will or
cheer. As expected, on Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by
three "spirits," the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and
Future, who convince Scrooge he's far too mean and uncaring.
Seeing the error of his ways, he rids himself of his bah,
humbug attitude and gets into the spirit of giving and
caring. The play, A Christmas Carol, was selected for
its relevance to the school's year long theme of change and
it's commitment to the values of giving and caring. Bob Cratchit, left, played by Kana'i gets the bad news
from Scrooge, played by Evan, that there will be no time off
for family at Christmas. For more photos from A Christmas
