In today's Japanese class, we had real visitors from Japan - Riko Miller's grandparents and several friends. Everyone played with traditional handmade toys (kendama, koma & otedama), tried their hand at Japanese calligraphy (shuji), ate octopus fritters (takoyaki) made by local chef Naoto Yamagishi, and tried on a summer kimono (yukata). Finally, the students sang their favorite Japanese song, "Kobuta, Tanuki, Kitsune, Neko."
